Our Current Spring 2017 Class Offerings
Every afternoon, we will offer at least one class as well as free play. We will continue to add classes as become available.
CAPOEIRA/MARTIAL ARTS (Monday – Grades K-5)
Ever wanted to be a ninja? Build strength, confidence and agility in our martial arts class. This class combines traditional martial arts moves with fun and exciting games. Each class includes activities with lessons on respect, discipline, self-control, concentration and goal setting.
MANDARIN LANGUAGE CLASSES (Monday – Grades K-5)—LIMITED SPOTS!
Take your Mandarin language skills beyond “Ni Hao” with our NEW Mandarin language classes. Language experts from Wall Street Chinese will teach students Mandarin through various kinds of activities and games. Children will be able to gain basic Mandarin language knowledge and skills naturally through interactions with teachers and peers. This class focuses on developing children’s interests in learning Chinese language systematically in the future, but also learn Eastern culture and develop their social skills.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The IDEAL School is working with Kids Creative to provide this class for free for IDEAL students. To take this class, all students must register online. Free registration is for Mandarin only. Students MUST register for Capoeira to take part in the full day of after school. Even if students sign up for the 5-day program, students still have to sign up for Mandarin as well. There is no different cost for students who sign up for the full 5-day program AND Mandarin.
CHESS CLUB (Tuesday – Grades K-5)
Build your brainpower! Students will play chess, learning the basics, building on their game playing, and honing their individual chess skills. This unique instruction creates a supportive environment as students learn to play together, have fun, and build strategy and concentration. Students are also invited to attend weekend chess tournaments. All grades and skill-levels welcome!
SOCCER IDOL (Tuesday – Grades K-5)
Play soccer like an Olympian!!! Using position-specific drills and games, you will get to let out your inner David Beckham. Having fun and staying active while applying the fundamentals of soccer.
CREATE-A-PLAY (Wednesday – Grades K-5)
Students will work together with professional actors, directors and musicians to create and perform an original musical, completely from their imaginations. The curriculum uses a creation method that emphasizes community, creativity, confidence and fun that is based on the philosophy that “all ideas are good.”
Note: This class works in conjunction with Rock N Roll Theater on Thursdays.
BASKETBALL CLUB (Wednesday – Grades K-5)
Get in on the fun...basketball skills and drills! Students will enjoy playing together and learning to work together as a team. Join this popular and dynamic club, building teamwork, sportsmanship, and friendship!
ROCK N ROLL THEATER (Thursday - Grade K-5)
Write and star in your own musical! After writing a story and practicing acting on Wednesdays, students will participate in a collaborative song writing, music-making and play production program that takes their ideas and excitement to the stage! Students learn acting, songwriting, beat making and more to perform their play for friends and family.
ART MASTER CLASS (Thursday – Grade K-5)
Be an ARTEEST! Our Art Master Class is a visual arts training program for those looking to build their specific design skills. Participants will work on individual art pieces as well as a group project, using a variety of artistic techniques. The class is taught by Kids Creative Summer Visual Arts Specialist Jess Sommerville.

SWIM CLUB--(Friday Grades K-5)Tentative - LIMITED SPOTS!
Dive into our swim club and learn how to swim like a fish. Fun lessons that teach swimming abilities to participants that wants to learn how to move safely in the water.
Note: Swim Club takes place at an off site swim facility and students will take private transportation to and from. There will be an extra transportation fee for swim.
